Maddy is staying with her Grandpa while her Mother is in hospital. One night while she’s sleeping, Grandpa gets a call from his daughter to tell him that her cancer has returned. The next day Grandpa takes Maddy fishing to try and take her mind of things. After catching her first fish, Grandpa tries to use the opportunity to teach Maddy about life, death and the importance of staying strong.

This short won Best Drama for the September edition of the Changing Faces International Film Festival and has competed for the annual prize in November 2021.
