An Anton Chekov classic where grief and stubborn pride collide in a sharp, witty one-act tragicomedy.
A mourning widow has vowed to keep herself trapped inside the walls of her house, with her loyal housekeeper, as a sign of commitment to her deceased, unfaithful husband. Her quiet seclusion is upended when a ruthless, gruff man storms her door, looking to collect the money her husband owed.

This play premiered at the University of Balamand in 2013 and toured to the Babel Theater in Beirut in 2014, under Charles Dik’s direction.
